OUR STORY .. in selfies :)
Year 1 — January 9, 2020 our love story starts at Wayne State University as Patrick nears the end of his mechanical engineering degree and Naomi starts her nursing degree.
Year 2 — The summer of 2021 was filled with love and laughter as we got to know each other’s families and traditions. Naomi joined Patrick’s family at Higgins Lake and Patrick joined the festivites of Fourth of July at Lake Chemung.
Year 3 — 2022 - was filled with new challenges as Patrick graduated college and Naomi was in the stress of double majoring. We focussed on strengthening our relationship through different get-aways like the hike shown in this picture.
Year 4 — Big events of 2023 included Naomi’s study abroad in Spain and managing a long-distance relationship. This year, Patrick figured out life living alone in a new state and Naomi spent 3 months in a different country thriving on Spanish food and dance! We did a lot of self-exploration this year which turned out to strengthen our relationship together!
Year 5 — 2024 - This year was full of big changes like Naomi’s graduation from college & Patrick’s move from Connecticut to Michigan (technically March of 2025). As we started the year long-distance and ended the year (kinda) at the lake house in Brighton, we relearned how to be in a not long-distance relationship and rediscovered our joy together.
Year 6 — 2025 - We got engaged! With both Patrick & Naomi living life as real adults (aka out of school and working full-time, paying taxes & doing grocery shopping), life together looked a bit different. Finally feeling confident in ourselves and our relationship, Patrick popped the question! Spoiler Alert: Naomi said “Yes!”
